Douglas A. Blankman has been practicing law in the State of Florida for the past twenty-seven years. During that time, he has litigated hundreds of insurance coverage, personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death and negligence cases of all kinds. Mr. Blankman has obtained numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts over his career. He has handled a broad range of commercial transactions from large real estate and business closings to single tenant leases and house closings.

Recently, he has represented healthcare providers, consumers and insureds in class actions recovering in excess of fifty million dollars in monetary benefits to his clients within the past several years. Those cases covered all areas including, but not limited to, real estate, healthcare provider reimbursement and contractual disputes with health insurers, insurance bad faith and class action litigation regarding property damage from hurricane claims and class action litigation which concluded with almost every major auto insurer in the State of Florida settling the claims brought by Mr. Blankman on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Blankman has been working and affiliated with The Kopelowitz Ostrow Firm, P.A., over the past five years and in 2007 they formalized their relationship with him becoming Of Counsel to the Firm. Prior to that, he was a partner with Kopelman & Blankman, P.A., for eighteen years. He received his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1980. He received his Law Degree from Nova University in 1979 with Honors and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida in 1976. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and before the United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals; United States Tax Court; United States Court of Claims and United States Federal District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Professional Associations include the Florida Bar; Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers; Broward County Bar Association and American Bar Association.
