Harvey G. Kopelowitz, of counsel to the firm, oversees TKO's real estate transactional department. He has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1971. Throughout his career, he has focused extensively in real estate, commercial and financial matters, representing real estate developers, businesses and lenders both in Florida and in out of state transactions. His experience on "both sides of the table" enables him to be especially helpful in work out situations involving financial institutions. In addition to handling the more sophisticated real estate commercial and financial transactions, Mr. Kopelowitz, as a licensed title insurance agent and owner of a title insurance company, has been responsible for the closing of thousands of residential and commercial purchase, sale and refinance transactions. Recently Mr. Kopelowitz has also been owner and president of one of the largest privately owned "hard money" lenders, originating and servicing a portfolio of over $100MM in loans in over twenty markets throughout the United States. Mr. Kopelowitz has been affiliated with The Kopelowitz Ostrow Firm, P.A. since its inception. In 2008, they formalized their relationship with him becoming Of Counsel to the Firm, through his own professional association. Prior to that he had been managing partner of Kopelowitz, Atlas, Pearlman and Trop for over 15 years. Mr. Kopelowitz received his B.A from the University of Pittsburgh in 1966 and his JD degree at Saint Johns University School of Law in 1969. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York and Florida in 1969. He has been a lecturer for the Florida Bar in Real Estate, has served as president of local philanthropic organizations and is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
